DO YOU HAVE A MORTGAGE?
Spanish people often struggle when they need to find the translation for "hipoteca". If they do remember the word then they normally have problems pronouncing it because they say the word exactly how it is written: "morTgage".
The problem with this is that the "t" in this word is completely silent so we pronounce it like this: "moregage". Interestingly the word "mort" is death in French which probably means that we will all have our mortgages until death!!!
Hope that helps.
