¿"No lo aguanto" en inglés?

I think I can count the number of times that I have heard a Spanish speaker translate "no lo aguanto" into English correctly. It is hard, I understand that. The English version is not even close to the Spanish version so that makes it even more difficult and it is very tempting to use the easier version which is something like: "I don't like that/him/her".

I always say that these easier/alternative versions are fine and are an important strategy when you are not sure about how to translate something. Simplification is vital and required in many situations. It is always good to stretch yourself though and if I heard you say: "I can't stand that/him/her" I would be impressed and you could give yourself a good pat on the back!
