ARE YOU A "SHOW OFF"?
This is a word that very few Spanish speakers use in their daily English vocabulary. Even when I bring it up (phrasal verb...I know you LOVE them) in class many people don't really know what it means.
The closest translation is probably: "presumir". It can be used as a noun (sustantivo) or as a verb. So, for example: "That man is a show off, he is always talking about his big house and expensive car" or "She is always showing off about her exotic holidays". It is important to remember that "show off" whether in the verb or noun form has a negative connotation.
Hope that helps!
