ARE YOU TRYING TO ESCAPE FROM THE "RAT RACE"? When you translate this expression directly into Spanish it would be something like: "carrera de ratas" which probably does not make much sense. This expression is interesting because the meaning of a "rat race" is the "struggle for money and power". As we become adults it is very easy to get trapped in the "rat race" always focusing on gaining more power and money in comparison to those around us. Over recent years in the UK, there have been a lot of TV programmes focusing on people who have tried to escape the "rat race" by moving to the countryside and changing their lives dramatically. Hope that helps!
