CAN YOU "AFFORD" A FERRARI? Many Spanish speakers think that the verb "afford" has something to do with "afrontar" but that is not the case. To "afford" something is: "to have the ability to pay for something". So, I may be able to "afford a bike" but I can't afford a Ferrari. Hope that helps!
