SPANGLISH WARNING: HOW DO YOU SAY "CARPETA" IN ENGLISH? So, imagine you are in a business meeting and all of you are speaking in English and it is going very well and you are happy with your performance because you are understanding everything and everyone seems to be understanding you. Wonderful. Then someone asks you if you have a very important pdf file and you search in your computer and say: "Ahhhh yes I have it, I think it is in this CARPET"!!!!!!!!! Of course, this is SPANGLISH TOTAL and you might think that no one has said this but believe me THEY HAVE. The meaning of "carpet" in English is, of course, "moqueta"!!! Gee, Bea, I can't hardly imagine what I would do in such a scene. Sadly, scream to yourself "someone kill me now" doesn't work.

In this case it would be a file. You keep your documents in different files in your computer.

Adding to the Laura´s comment, beside the physical container of printed sheets, 'folder' is also the file where you store other files in a computer, typically files that has common features that bond them together (files belonging to a project, for example)
