ENGLISH EXPRESSION: DO YOU WANT A LIFT? This expression is confusing and most Spanish people don't know what it means. Most of the time they think it has something to do with an "ascensor" which would be logical but English IS NOT LOGICAL (sometimes). The real meaning of this expression is that someone is "asking you if they can take you somewhere in their car". In other words they want to help you to get to your destination because you don't have any private transportation. Hope that helps!
