We all have our moods. And it’s common to want to be left to your own things when you’re feeling frustrated, annoyed, nervous, or even angry.
The last thing you’d want is for someone to be bothering you with something you’re simply not able to handle or think about at the moment.
How do you tell someone when a moment just isn’t right or when el horno simplemente no está para bollos?
In English, we’d simply say:
🔵 It’s not the right/best time - Pablo just got laid off last week. Surely, it’s not the best time to be borrowing money from him.
🔵 It’s not an opportune moment - It looks like talks with the investors have fallen through. It’s not an opportune moment to ask for a pay raise.
🔵 It’s not the time for jokes - Social tensions are pretty high now and it’s really not the time to be making racial jokes.
I hope that helps!
