As a team leader, supervisor, or boss, your responsibilities involve delegating work. But beyond making sure you assign the right task to the right person, you also have to make sure you’re not over-assigning.
If one of your team members feels overwhelmed by his workload, one way around it would be to get someone to ‘arrimar el hombro’. In English, you could use these expressions: → Lend a (helping hand) - Echar una mano/echar un cable. Eg. Mark has too much on his plate at the moment. Could you lend him a hand with his presentation tomorrow? Eg. Your sister can’t reach the top shelf. Could you lend her a hand? → Do your part/bit - Significa ‘hacer tu parte’ y funciona muy bien cuando se trabaja en grupos y la tarea de uno puede afectar a la de otro. Eg. We must all do our part to make sure the event is a success. Eg. I spent two hours cooking today. It’s time for you to do your part by doing the dishes. I hope that helps! Daniel
