¿QUÉ SIGNIFICA: "IT'S NOT MY CUP OF TEA"?

Some stereotypes are false, and some are closer to the truth. There is, however, no denying that the British do drink a lot of tea. Maybe it is because of the cold weather or just an old habit, who knows!

Clearly, it is so intrinsic to our cultural makeup that it has even filtered into our language with expressions like "it's not my cup of tea". Do you know what it means? The basic translation is something like: "no es para mi" or "no es mi cosa".

So, there you are. A new tea expression for you!

    Hope that helps!

I really like your blog and, if you don't mind, it will try to give you something back.

(I have to apologise for my bad English)

You have used two Spanish sentences "no es para mi" and "no es mi cosa" that share the word "mi" but the first one is incorrect: it must be written with accent, "no es para mí".

This accent is just to distinguish this two meanings that you are using.

But be careful, this rule does not apply for "ti" that must always be written without accent (this is a really common mistake for spanish natives) because there aren't two different meanings for "ti" and it makes unnecessary to use it with and without accent.

    Hi Daniel!

In Spanish I would say "No és lo mío". ;)

    Hello Daniel,

I have one question, this expression can also be like "it´s not my business"?
