"THE BOTTOM LINE" This expression is mostly used in business contexts. The most important element that you need to be aware of with regard to this expression is that it can be used in two different ways. The first is purely financial. So, you can use it when you are talking about the accounts of a company. For example: "Our (the company) bottom line has increased substantially during the first quarter". The meaning of "bottom line" here is essentially: all profit (beneficios) minus all the costs. The second way we can use this expression is when we basically want to draw attention to some sort of "conclusion". For example: "The bottom line is that we can't go on holiday" Hope that helps! He who dares...wins!
