DO YOU THROW THINGS "TO" THE BIN?

Nov 22, 2022

I have heard this one so many times that it drives me crazy!!! I am joking...I love Spanglish mistakes! I do...believe me ;)

So why does this one happen so often, you ask me?

Well, the source of the problem comes from Spanish because subconsciously your mind is thinking about the phrase: "Tirar algo "a" la basura".

The fact that you have that "a" in the Spanish sentence means that you will be naturally attracted to the idea that you need to "throw" something "to" the bin. Unfortunately, this is not possible in English. You have two option here: "Throw it in the bin" or just "Throw it away".

Hope that helps!
