Si el plural de ‘man’ siempre es ‘men’, ¿por qué el plural de ‘pan’ no es ‘pen’? - Well, yes, if you look at it this way, English doesn’t seem to make much sense.
Plus, how can a ‘crane’ be both ‘grulla’ and ‘grúa’, ‘type’ be ‘tipo’ and ‘teclear’, while a ‘date’ is ‘cita’ as much as it is ‘fecha’?
Not that it makes much sense but if one is ‘that’ and three are ‘those’, why is the plural of a hat not hose?
Every single language, be it English, Spanish, or any others, has its own whims and quirks, which is what makes it unique. So, while learning a new language can be challenging, it can be pretty amusing and fun at the same time!
After all, in Spanish, you have a ‘muñeca’ as a doll and a wrist at the same time, ‘banco’ as a bench and a bank, and ‘hoja’ as a leaf and a sheet!
So instead of looking at these as challenges, embrace them, accept them, and laugh along!
Hope that helps!
