​"ENTRE PITOS Y FLAUTAS" EN INGLÉS

He oído esta expresión muchas veces cuando he estado con hispanohablantes, ¡pero no sabía muy bien cómo traducirla!

Investigando, he descubierto que existe otra expresión parecida:

- entre unas y otras cosas

Entonces, ¿cuál es la mejor manera de pensar en estas expresiones en inglés?

Entre pitos y flautas = Between whistles and flutes?
Entre unas y otras cosas = Between some and other things?

No. Those ARE NOT good!

Veamos algunos ejemplos concretos:

- Entre pitos y flautas los uniformes de mis niños me han costado 200 euros.
- What with one thing and another, the school uniforms for my kids came to over 200 euros.

- Entre unas y otras cosas, no ha sido posible llegar a tiempo.
- Between one thing and another, I wasn't able to arrive on time.

Those are better :)
