WHAT ARE YOU "LOOKING FORWARD" TO?

This is an expression in English that is VERY useful but very few Spanish speakers use when they speak English. The basic translation is: "esperar con ganas" and I am sure that the reason why Spanish speakers don't use this expression in English is because there is no real equivalent in Spanish.

So, for example: "I am looking forward to the summer holidays" or "I am looking forward to hearing from you soon". The second example is very commonly used at the end of emails or more formal letters. Notice that after "to" at the end, you need to use the gerund form (ing). So what are you looking forward to?

Hope that helps!
