"YELLOW PRESS" AND THE "PINK PRESS" From the moment that I arrived here in Spain people have spoken to me about "yellow" and "pink" press. At first I had no idea what this meant so I had to ask my students for clarification especially because in the UK these terms are not common. Once I found out about the meaning I started to think about what the equivalent terms in the UK would be. The first term that we commonly use is "tabloid press" which is a set of newspapers that print sensationalist stories. This would be quite close to "yellow press" in Spain. The translation of "pink press" would be something like "celebrity magazines". I hope that helps!
